How it works

What actually happens to your ticket

Quashed is a service of GrafterUK Ltd · Private parking tickets in England & Wales

No jargon and no hard sell — here's the real sequence, start to finish. You stay in control the whole way: nothing is submitted until you approve it.

1. You send us the ticket — free

Snap a photo of the ticket, any notice that arrived in the post, and the signs where you parked, and send them through the form. It takes a couple of minutes and costs nothing. This is a private-operator ticket service (ParkingEye, Euro Car Parks and the like) — we don't handle council penalties, which are a different legal process.

2. We check whether it's actually winnable — and tell you straight

We look at your ticket against the grounds that genuinely decide these cases: whether the operator followed the Protection of Freedoms Act to hold the keeper liable, whether they kept to their trade body's Code of Practice, whether there was a proper grace period, what the signs actually said. If we don't think we can get it cancelled, we say so — and there's nothing to pay. We'd rather turn a case away than run a hopeless appeal.

For context on the odds when a case is worth appealing: 50.5% of appeals that completed POPLA's process in 2024/25 ended with the ticket cancelled (POPLA Annual Report 2025). That's the appeals body for BPA operators; IPC operators use the IAS, where most wins come as pre-adjudication concessions. We'll never tell you a particular ticket is a certainty — some are far stronger than others, and we'll tell you which yours is.

3. If we take it on, we get your authorisation

To appeal on your behalf we need your say-so in writing. When we accept your case we prepare a short authorisation letter — it names you, your vehicle and the ticket, and authorises us to act for you on that one ticket — and email it to you. Nothing is filed off the back of it without you; it's simply the paperwork that lets us represent you.

4. We draft your appeal on the strongest legal grounds

We write your appeal around the specific grounds that apply to your case, quoting the law and the operator's own Code where it counts — not a generic "please let me off" letter. A person reviews every draft. The AI we use helps us read the ticket and prepare the draft, but it never decides your case and never sends anything on its own.

5. You approve it, we submit, and you see the outcome

We send you the draft to read over. Nothing goes to the operator until you approve it. Once you're happy, we submit the appeal and, when the operator (or the adjudicator) comes back, we tell you the outcome plainly — cancelled or not.

What we don't do

We don't guarantee a win — nobody honest can. We don't charge you for a ticket we decide isn't winnable. And we don't send anything in your name without showing it to you first.
